Answers stay current

When a counter's data moves, its answers are rewritten - and History keeps every count each answer reached.

#Rewritten when the data moves

An answer isn't a snapshot you have to refresh. When new rows arrive - a tap, an import, a job's next run - the answer is rewritten from the data.

In a counter's list of answered questions, an answer that hasn't caught up with the newest rows is marked Behind. Open it and Countdat rewrites it there and then, telling you how many new rows it's taking in:

An answer showing 31 drinks ordered, with the line Rewriting this answer - 10 new taps and a timer underneath
"Rewriting this answer - 10 new taps." The page updates itself when the new answer is ready.

#History

Every answer keeps a History of every count it reached. Open it from the answer page to see each version - its headline, its count and when it was written - so "it was 31 last time" is one tap away. Here marks the version you're reading.

History panel with two versions: v2, 41, 8 minutes ago, and v1, 31, 13 days ago
The "Drinks ordered" answer after 10 new taps: version 2 counts 41, version 1 counted 31.
