Signing in & passkeys

Sign in with Google, Apple or a passkey - and what to do if you've lost the device your passkey was on.

#Ways to sign in

  • Google, Apple or email - whichever you signed up with.
  • A passkey - a key stored on your device, unlocked with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your device PIN.

A password is a secret you type and can forget, reuse or have phished. A passkey pairs your device with your fingerprint, face or PIN, so sign-in is faster and can't be phished.

#Recovering a lost passkey

If you've changed phones, cleared your device, or the passkey prompt keeps failing:

  1. Start from the sign-in page. Enter your email address.
  2. Choose Forgot / Lost passkey when the passkey prompt appears and can't be completed.
  3. Open the recovery email. Countdat sends a secure, time-limited link to that address. Click it.
  4. Create a new passkey. Approve the prompt on your device. Once it's created, you're signed in.

No email? Check Spam or Promotions, and search your inbox for "Countdat". Recovery links expire - if yours has, start again from the sign-in page.
