A record of every change
Nothing in a counter is overwritten or deleted. A correction is a new row pointing at the old one; a delete is a void.
A counter keeps a record of everything that happened to it. That's what makes its answers checkable, and its history trustworthy.
#The rules
- Nothing is overwritten. A correction is a new row that points at the row it corrects.
- Nothing is erased. A delete is a void: the row is marked, kept, and left out of answers.
- Every row says where it came from - a tap, a sentence, the Add form, an import, a job or a button.

#A preview before anything is saved
The other half of the promise: changes are shown before they happen. Imports, jobs, alerts, buttons and field changes all show their result first, and nothing is saved until you say yes.
#Is anything ever deleted?
No. A correction is a new row pointing at the old one; a delete is marked, not erased. If you have a question about removing data for legal or privacy reasons, write to support@countdat.com.
