Buttons
Buttons on a counter's rows close a ticket, clear a flag or correct a value - each tried on a real row before it's saved.
A button is an action on a counter's rows. It turns a common fix into one tap, for anyone who looks after the counter.
#Examples
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Close | Marks an incident or ticket as closed. |
| Clear flag | Clears a flag someone raised on a row. |
| Correct | Fixes a value - the wrong size, the wrong amount. |
#Make a button
- Describe it in the counter's design chat - "a button to close an incident".
- Pick its icon. Each button has its own.
- Watch the dry run. The button is tried on a real row first, so you see exactly what it would change.
- Save. It appears on the counter's rows.
#Buttons keep the record
A button never overwrites a row. Like every change in Countdat, it adds a new row pointing at the old one, so you can always see what was pressed and when. See A record of every change.
