Share & publish answers
Share a live answer as a link, or publish a name for one so that page is fixed for good - safe to cite.
There are two ways to send an answer to someone. Choose by whether they should see the latest number or one that never changes.
| Share a link | Publish a name | |
|---|---|---|
| Shows | The live answer | The version you published |
| When data changes | Rewritten | Stays exactly as it was |
| Good for | A team checking in on a number | A report, a decision, an audit - anything you'll cite |
#Share a live answer
- Open the answer.
- Choose Share in the bar under the headline, and copy the link.
- Send it. Whoever opens it sees the answer as it is now.
#Publish a fixed version
- Open the answer at the moment you want to keep.
- Choose publish and give it a name -
week-41,q3-board-pack. - Copy its address. That page is fixed for good, safe to cite even as the live answer moves on.
Published pages keep their working too, so anyone citing the number can check how it was reached.
