Who can tap - and consent
Choose whether anyone with the link or only the people you invite can add rows, and how people are asked before anything about them is recorded.
#Choose who may tap
Each counter's owner decides who can add rows. Every answer page shows which it is, in the bar under the headline:
| Shown as | Who can tap | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Link | Anyone with the counter's tap link | A coffee machine, a front desk, an event |
| Members | A few named people you invite. They sign in to Countdat to tap. | When you need to know who tapped, or keep a count to a team |
#Shared with a link
Someone who reached an answer without the tap link is told who to ask for it:
#Kept with members
Someone who isn't a member can still read the answer, but is told they'd need an account and an invitation to tap. Look around instead takes them to other counters.
You can change the setting later. Rows already added stay as they are.
#People are asked first
If a counter records anything about the person tapping, they are asked before anything is recorded. If what's recorded changes later, they're asked again.
#Answering "who tapped most?"
Questions about people only work when the counter records who tapped - which means members who've signed in and agreed. For a link-shared count, ask about times and totals instead.
